Requirements to become a Certified Gerson Caregiver
The Gerson Caregiver Training Program includes four phases as outlined below:
An applicant must be a minimum of 21 years old, in good health and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.

PHASE I:
a. Completion of the 2 ½ day
Gerson Basics Workshop. This is the entry level requirement.
b.
In order to proceed with the rest of the caregiver training, you must first submit an application for acceptance into the program.
PHASE II
a. Home Study Phase. At this time, you will already have the main educational material provided at the Gerson Basics Workshop
b. Required Reading:
c. A two-week personal experience on the modified Gerson Therapy.
PHASE III:
a. Interview with a Gerson Institute staff member for acceptance into the internship program.
b. Participate in a Gerson Institute structured and evaluated internship opportunity
in San Diego, CA at either the Charlotte Gerson Health Restoration Center or our Community Intern Program for one week.
c. Return to the Gerson Institute the completed evaluation.
d. Successful completion of the Caregiver written exam.
PHASE IV:
a. Third interview after completion of the intern experience to evaluate and discuss proficiency and suitability for certification as a Caregiver.
b. The License Agreement is mailed to student.
c. Student returns signed License Agreement along with payment of the $200.00 annual administrative fee
Upon completion of these four phases and certification, you will be eligible to be listed on the Gerson Institute Approved Referral List. The Gerson Institute will give your name to people who contact us for referrals to
Certified Caregivers.
