We'd like to share with you the story of one of our amazing and dedicated volunteers, Bettie, who is a breast cancer survivor. She heard about the Gerson Institute from a friend, and first came to volunteer for us at a Gerson Basics Workshop. That weekend inspired Bettie to make some major life changes, as she explains below:

"I thought, 'Geez, these people have information, they have answers, and it makes sense so that anyone can understand it.'  So I went into work and told my boss, 'I'm going to resign. I want to go volunteer with the Gerson Institute.' And he said, 'Bettie, what's going to happen to my business? Why would you go work for free when you can make all this money each week?' And I said, 'because I need peace of mind and I just need to be around people who appreciate me and I appreciate them. They're working for a cause and they're paying it forward.'"

"It was a life-changing moment when I met Charlotte and heard her talk about restoring the body. Everyone else talks about healing the body, but you really can't heal before you restore. I like to be here because everyone is very positive, very motivated and very encouraging - and an organization like this needs volunteers, so that you all have the time to do the planning and strategy."

"I've seen the Institute grow just since I've been here. I know you're growing because I make the juice, and I know you have more volunteers because I'm making more juice. You're heading for big growth, and I'd like to see you on a big ranch someday where you can have your own organic farm with various departments so you can help more people."

"You are a dream come true. And I want to be part of this dream."
